To say that Siriji Lamenzo is a good personal trainer is an understatement. To say she’s fantastic, doesn’t do her justice. I started working out w/ Siriji in July of 2013, and the results I’ve experienced under her instruction are nothing short of spectacular (for me): over 25 pounds lost, muscle definition, strong core–resulting in the loss of years-long back pain, endurance, and mental clarity. So much of a change, people comment on my physique regularly.
I didn’t start off fit: I didn’t ever work out–never had the drive to make it to they gym, got tired playing with the kids, constantly felt lethargic and regularly–two or three times a year–pulled muscles in my lower back, rendering me inoperable for weeks over the course of a year.
Siriji has made all of these problems of the past. I see her twice a week for one-on-one instruction and attend one of her Fusion 360 classes on the weekend. I look forward to working out, and feel physically and mentally rejuvenated after training with her. Siriji not only works on muscle building and tone, but more importantly–and to my surprise, something I needed–on balance and strength. The latter, combined with a strengthened core, have resulted in nearly all of my back pain disappearing.
In addition to being a consummate professional, Siriji is a wonderful, nice, and kind person. She’s positive, fun to talk to and makes each session different, challenging, and fun. I don’t walk away from a single session, not being impressed by the intensity of my workout and the speed at which the time flies: She concentrates on me during the entire hour, constantly changing up exercises: Bosu, balance, TRX, free wights, stretching, bands, etc. etc. etc.
Jerry, who runs the facility, is also a nice and friendly guy, and the entire environment of the studio feels relaxed and non-competitive. Everyone there is nice. It’s clean, well lighted, and a great place to go to get focused instruction or attend a class with just a few other people.
If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. Be Fit and Siriji especially, have literally changed my life.
I think most of the people I know in the Bay have already heard me say this, but just in case: if you’re looking for a trainer, new exercise routine, or general awesome source of workout know-how, I can’t recommend Siriji Lamenzo and her Fitness By / Proaction classes enough. Most of the gains I made in climbing ability last year were down to enjoying working through a wide variation of sessions with her, and the knowledge from our discussions has set me up beautifully to manage keeping in shape for the mountains out here. I’m pushing 60, began with personal training with Siriji and have been going to her weekend classes for years. She knows her stuff, insists on good form (always willing to help) and is helping me stay fit by working my tail off!
My wife and I have been training with Siriji for over six months. We are both in our sixties and have worked at keeping fit most of our lives, sometimes together and sometimes doing our own thing. We really like the experience of being trained by Siriji. There is a constant variety of exercises which keeps things interesting and often fun. Siriji has a great eye for seeing how we are using our bodies and instructing us on how to more effectively integrate the different parts. Most important for me, the things I am learning help me with my posture, my balance and just the pleasure of using my body in everyday life.
It’s become cliché for a personal trainer to promise to “change your life,” but Siriji Lamenzo has straight-up changed mine, with the kind of surety and matter-of-fact generosity of spirit that makes impact last.
I’ve been taking Siriji’s awesomely high-variety, high-intensity Velocity 360 class as long as it’s been offered at Be Fit, having followed her there from her previous gym (which in and of itself speaks volumes, for me). Always more on the “brain” than “brawn” side of self-identity, committing to exercise (let alone enjoying it!) was a slow burn, and, before Siriji, consisted mostly of yoga, Pilates and an occasional agonizing surrender to the treadmill. I’ve continued the yoga and Pilates, and they help, but I credit working out with Siriji once a week with the majority of my physical fitness today. Yes, I’ve lost four jeans sizes and 20 pounds I didn’t realize I was carrying around. Yes, I have muscular definition reminiscent of Linda Hamilton in “Terminator 2”. Yes, the frequent back pain I’d thought was a given is a distant memory, and that sore, sloppy feeling I used to have is, too. My body’s changed. My health’s changed.
My life, though: that’s something more. That’s when my first thought facing a challenge tough enough to make me laugh jumps from, “Not me,” to, “Let’s see what I can do.” It’s when the weird mix of distress, drag, resentment (even shame) that being made to super-sweat used to stir in me becomes willingness and warrior-thrill. It’s when that thing I couldn’t lift, that sprint I couldn’t stomach, I can, and know I can. It’s not just that I can move better, but I can be my own person better. I feel more powerful about and in myself. Because, unexpectedly: Siriji’s not only changed how I function, but how I think. And, for me, that’s changed everything.
Really, Siriji’s helped me chuck limits I didn’t know I had, because she’s earned my trust. She knows what’s happening in my head before I’m aware of it, and shows me. She knows form comes first, and helps me find it, firmly, directly, patiently. She pushes me past what seems doable, but never past what is. And she’s a friend, not a fake: not only does she teach me, she’s in it with me (with all of us). There’s nothing like Siriji’s expertise, care and support, and she gives them honestly, excellently and with total dedication. In capability, in personality … she’s as for-real as you can get. She’s rare.

I started working out at Be Fit about 18 months ago. I’m middle-aged, not very active, and I’d always had trouble sticking with an exercise routine. I hoped that the individual attention of personal training might keep me going. It worked! I’ve been having twice-weekly sessions ever since. Jerry, the owner, really cares about his clients and trainers and runs a great business. The facility has a wide range of equipment, so an endless variety of exercises is possible. It never gets boring.
I started out working with Jerry. He is a very friendly, warm person and did a great job of assessing my capabilities, getting me started and encouraging me to keep improving. I was amazed to find that I actually looked forward to working out. After several months I switched to Siriji Lamenzo, who has been an amazing trainer for me. She is extremely attentive to body mechanics and position so I never worry about hurting myself. My fitness level, flexibility and strength have increased tremendously, and I no longer experience the knee and back problems that I had before. She works on overall strength and stability, but also has the knowledge to focus on specific problem areas. She has an overall strategy for me and a vision of what I’ll be able to do, so I’m working on much more than strengthening particular sets of muscles. She knows a million different exercises and makes good use of the equipment on site, so every session is different.
Siriji is caring, friendly, and enthusiastic, and it’s a pleasure to spend a few hours a week with her. She explains everything thoroughly.

Siriji is a gem. I’ve never seen a trainer so dedicated. During workouts, she is 100% focused on her trainee, constantly evaluating abilities, correcting posture, challenging capabilities and pushing forward to the next level. Each session is different, and Siriji comes well prepared, so the challenge to cope is both physically and mentally. But her great personality eases things. She is pleasant and supportive and really knows how to connect, so practice is also a lot of fun. She is a true professional, knows tons of different exercises and variations, and because she is pedant with posture, even after working hard, I’m not too sore, which is great. It really makes me appreciate the effectiveness of working with a personal trainer. I’ve been working with her for only two months now, and my body feels much stronger, which gives me so much more confidence.
I never worked with a personal trainer before so was a little nervous and unsure about whether it was the thing for me. Thanks to Siriji, I took to it like a fish to water. She develops challenging but fun routines based on my personal needs and, most importantly, mixes things up so they are always fresh and interesting.

I am a 73 year old mother of four. I am recently widowed and don’t have much cause to get out of the house. However, I felt the need to take care of myself and re-claim my own health and wellness. I have been training with Siriji for only a few months now.
Please listen when I say I believe physical training isn’t just for twenty-somethings. I do exercise for me! It gives me a sense of personal accomplishment. Pushing myself beyond my self-imposed barriers makes me feel good about who I am. I encourage anyone to get into a physical exercise program.

I’ve been training with Siriji for two years and it’s been a pleasure having her push me to get back into my body, strength train and work on my form. I guess you can say I was a weakling when I first started. Working out was a completely new and daunting territory for me, but Siriji made it fun and easy for me to dive into it without fear. Even after the first few weeks of training, I felt an improvement in my posture and strength. She knows how to create a diversity of workouts that always fit with where I’m at from week to week. And if there’s an exercise that I can’t seem to get right because I have a tendency to overthink everything, she knows how to fine-tune them, changing some aspect of it so that I can make the mind-body connection and get into the exercise with relative ease. I am grateful for her thoughtful and very present approach and would highly recommend her to any one who wants to get into shape, become stronger and feel way better.
I have been a regular participator in Siriji’s Velocity 360 class for the last 4 years and have noticed myself getting stronger, faster, and more energetic each and every week. Siriji’s training has taken me from obese couch potato to fit athlete. When I first started training with her I could barely push myself off the floor for a push up, now I average at least 25 without breaking a sweat. Siriji never fails to deliver fun, challenging, and engaging workout routines that work out every muscle group in the body efficiently and effectively. I am a 56 year old female and have been working out with weights for several years, but I was in a funk and needed some creativity put back into in my workouts. I explained to Siriji that I wanted to work with a trainer for a couple of months to get my motivation back; she was fine with it. I am amazed and so grateful for the training Siriji provided for me for those two months. I have had a couple of other trainers, but Siriji is tops. Her dedication to the client is unsurpassed. She came each session with a workout written specifically for me. I was concerned about some exercises such as overhead press, so she took baby steps with me until I was comfortable. Siriji is a stickler for form and corrected my form in many exercises, especially my squats. Siriji is professional and dedicated, and I highly recommend her. She is gentle and encouraging, but also will push you to try a little harder. It is easy to see that she cares about you as her client. I al so took her TRX class; it’s tough and challenging, but also fun. I am still using the workouts she provided for me which include balance, strength, and stabilization exercises. You will be truly pleased and amazed at the progress Siriji will help you make. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. Siriji is the best!
I started taking Siriji’s Focus 360 classes last Spring; Siriji is an all-around wonderful trainer. She’s patient while pushing you to work and challenge yourself, making corrections where needed along the way and keeps you motivated to keep going back to her workouts. Her workouts are always different, so the variety and creativity that she brings to each session make it a truly pleasurable (and painful at times :)) experience.
I started working with Siriji about a month ago, 2x per week and she has been amazing! I have never hired a personal trainer and always considered myself in ‘good’ shape. Siriji identified and focused on my weak areas to help build overall, balanced fitness. She is super patient, knowledgeable, and supportive….she also has a great sense of humor. Workouts are always varied and I always leave feeling better than when I started…even if my arms are so weak I can barely lift my waterbottle to my lips! What I really appreciate is her ability to adjust the planned routine based on how my body is feeling or if I just can’t do something. I have a few old injuries that she checks in with me regularly to make sure I’m not in pain and that all feels right. In this short time I can already feel results and can’t recommend anyone more highly!
I have tried gym membership, 30 minute circuit training, workout DVDs, and running with no results. Instead of losing weight I was gaining and then I found BE FIT. I went in for a free consultation and decided to sign up with a personal trainer named Siriji Lamenzo. I have been working out with her for a year and have lost 20 pounds. I look better, feel better, and am stronger. Siriji will work you hard but the results are worth it. She will work on your cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and nutrition. Our sessions vary, are challenging, and keep me motivated. I am not bored. If you want to see results and stay motivated I highly recommend Siriji you will not regret it. My older sister recently told me I look like a skinny minnie and if you have a sister you know compliments are rarely given. The facility is clean, organized, ample street parking and the trainers are friendly. What are you waiting for….call and ask for Siriji
Siriji is amazing. She truly understands how the body works and what your unique individual needs are to achieve your fitness goals. She pays close attention to maintaining good form, which is so important in preventing injury. She also provides variety! So often I’d get so bored working out at the local gym but with Siriji, I know there is always a challenge ahead, and a fun one! She makes the workouts engaging and serves as a great motivator! Every time I leave after a session with Siriji, I feel refreshed and determined. And not to mention, every muscle in my body had to work hard that day! Even the little ones we don’t often pay attention to when working out!
I have been taking classes with Siriji weekly for over a year now and am quite pleased with my progress. Siriji is very careful to make sure everyone is exercising safely and with good form. I am always pleased at how much personal attention I get in her class, and her patience when I forget something we went over earlier. She has suggestions at every class as to how to modify exercises as needed to fit your individual fitness level. This make the class work for a wide range of abilities – regular attendees range from the 20s to 60s with a variety of fitness levels. Each class has new exercises so that you don’t feel like you are doing the same routine each week. She is very punctual and reliable and going to class has become an important part of weekend routine.
